The Lunar calendar series’ coins celebrate the 12-year cycle of the Chinese Zodiac of 12 animals. The 2017 Rooster bullion coin is from The Royal Mint’s Shēngxiào Collection. It combines the incredible British minting craftsmanship with the Chinese lunar calendar.
Rooster Gold Coin Artist and His Inspiration
Wuon-Gean Ho’s inspiration came from a farm trip. The Rooster Gold coin has ten marsh Daisies around a rooster signifying the tenth sign of the Zodiac. The number ten represents perfection in Chinese culture.
